Producepak AI for automated fresh produce inventory management
The goal of automation is simple: stock figures that are right without anyone keying them in. Producepak records every movement as it happens, and Pak-Bot turns those records into alerts and answers.
What runs without being asked
| Event | What Producepak does automatically |
|---|---|
| Delivery arrives | Scan the supplier barcode to fill in delivery data; weights come from integrated scales with tare deducted; labels print; the supplier gets a receipt and the buyer is alerted to over or under supply. |
| Pallet is lifted (with RFID) | The pallet is selected; when it is put down, its new location is recorded; loaded onto a truck, it is added to the order. |
| Inventory goes into a batch | It is marked "in batch" and no longer available to other processes; outputs create new labelled stock. |
| Stock-take | Auto stock-take compares the list to actual stock and records only discrepancies, which go to management for shrinkage approval. |
| Stock reaches a minimum | Low inventory alerts per part and warehouse. |
| Stock ages | Pak-Bot warns which lots will expire at the current packing rate. |
| Site transfer | A transport document is generated; the receiving site scans it to confirm arrival. |
Then ask it anything
Because the records are complete, Pak-Bot can answer inventory questions in seconds:
- Total yellow potato in stock
- Weight of totes in stock
- Totals of inventory owned by ACE Farming Group
- Total of inventory at site Closters
- Red onion in poly bags
Container balances are tracked too: RPCs, totes, bins and pallets owed to or by each supplier.

Questions
Do we need RFID for automated inventory?
No. Barcode scanning covers most automation. RFID adds automatic pallet selection and location tracking, with hardware from around $500 per forklift.
Does it handle multiple sites and warehouses?
Yes, unlimited sites with unlimited warehouses each, with a live balance per warehouse and permissions controlling who sees which site.
Does it work in cool rooms with poor Wi-Fi?
Producepak needs an always-on data connection; test Wi-Fi coverage in every cooler before going live and add access points where needed.
